We chose the most perfect, sunny day to take a coach trip to Blackpool with 15 of the families that we support. Each family got a beach pack of games and activities and a packed lunch to enjoy a picnic by the sea.
Three of our families were chosen to receive a mini break at a Haven site of their choice, we were able to provide this due to the generosity of Mothers Union. A break away from it all was just what the doctor ordered, and we received some wonderful virtual postcards from them to say thank you.
We ended our summer activities with a ‘Cracking Good Food’ session for our more local families, we learned how to make a pizza and cous cous salad from scratch and learned about nutrition and healthy alternatives. We then ate together and shared cooking experiences. We also had a visit from Lucy at Cash for Kids who dropped by to say hello and meet the families.
All in all a fantastic Summer 2024!
