A. That will be depend on your circumstances and what you require help with. We are a friendly team who can offer a range of help and support whether it be a friendly chat about your or your family member / loved ones situation, information on the prison system or advice on the prison or help with accessing further support or services. If you wish, the best thing to do would be to give the team a call and we can help from there.
A. Most (but not all) Prisoners who live in the North West will be sent to one of the following prisons. The prison they are sent to will depend on a lot of things. A website link to each Prison is included below

A. At Out There, we understand that this can be a very stressful, worrying time. The prisoner should be able to make a call in the first 24 hours of arriving at a prison. This will obviously depend on a number of factors and whether they know phone numbers as they will have had any property taken off them and saved for when they are released. If you have not heard from a family member or loved one in over 24 hours since they were sent to prison, please give the team a ring and we’ll see if we can help.
A. You will be able to organise a Prison visit however, the procedures for this can differ depending on what Prison your family member / loved one has been sent to and whether they are on Remand or they have been sentenced. If you are unclear about this process, please call Out There and we will be able to advise and help.
A. Again, this will depend on the prison. For most, you will be given set times that you can drop property off. If this is unclear and you are unsure, please give us a call and we will be able to advise and help
A. Yes, you can send letters to any prisoner in prison. You will need to include on the address envelope (Prison addresses can be found on the previous website links) the full name and your family member / loved ones Prison number – this is a 6 digit number which begins with the letter A.
A. If your family member or loved one has been transferred to a different prison, this can be for a number of reasons. They should be given a chance to make a phone call within 24 hours of being transferred yet just like when they first enter prison, this will be dependent on them knowing phone numbers. If you are worried or unsure of what the situation is with your loved ones / family members prison transfer, please call Out There and we will try and help.
